A Modern Way To Eat by Anna Jones

I like good food, and on occasion I like to prepare it.

This is a vegetarian cookbook and I’m not vegetarian, but with that said, sometimes there comes a cookbook that can change the way you cook and this cookbook does just that.

I was initially enticed by its simplistic cover, the clever title and its gorgeously vibrant photography inside, but beyond that, I found an ingenious cookbook.

A Modern Way To Eat is not your run-of-the-mill cookbook. Its more of a manual on how to prepare seasonal fare that is not only appetizing to the eye, but also to the palette. It’s a cookbook for the conscious eater; for those who want to look beyond the plate, know what they’re eating, and how it affects their overall well-being.

This cookbook has 200+ vegetarian recipes that I’m sure will even satisfy the most critical of carnivores… possibly, I make no promises or certainties.

However for me, the best part of this cookbook is its helpful charts, quick tips and method pages; such as, which fruit and vegetables are in season and how to put a recipe together, all brilliantly interjected between tempting recipes from breakfast to dessert.

While skimming through the pages, it becomes very obvious that Jones shares simple, easy to follow recipes that also include some vegan and gluten-free options.

Most recipes seem to be adaptable and can be customized to your personal taste or household needs, which is fantastic since I don’t think my husband will be going vegetarian anytime during his lifetime. Just saying.

Overall, A Modern Way To Eat seems like it will be a marvelous addition to my cookbook collection and I look forward to making several recipes very soon.
