Monthly Obsessions: 0215 Edition

FEB15MO1
By golly, where has this year gone!

Here we are at the end of February and I feel like I just celebrated the New Year. I suppose I should get on with my current obsession this month because it’ll be spring before we know it.

So, here we go…

Quite frankly, I have relatively good skin; however, the cold weather this year has taken a toll on my skin. This is probably the worst my skin has been in my entire adult life. Its bad. Dry, dehydrated, tight, flaking, peeling, redness, blotchiness— the works! I was devastated.

My tried and true winter regiment just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I even coated my face in 100% Shea Butter and it just made my face oily and flaky at the same time (I didn’t even know that was possible). Not a good look, trust me.

I need something ultra moisturizing, but gentle to soothe my skin. Thus, I’m lumping these too products together as the ultimate ‘Dry Skin Fighting Duo’.

If you have read any of my other skincare posts you’ll know I’m a Caudalie product junkie. I absolutely love their products. So, naturally in my time of need and desperation I turned to Caudalie to sort me out.

And thank goodness I did because my skin is 100x better. Mind you this is not an instantaneous fix, but well worth the wait.

So, if your skin is feeling dry and under the weather I highly suggest these two products.

This opaque periwinkle pastel lacquer is just the perfect color; not too bright, not too dark, somewhat purple and blue all at the same time. It levels beautifully and doesn’t look chalky.

So, if you’re in the market for a periwinkle nail lacquer, this one is definitely worth a try.

Knopf MapGuides | Paris, London, Rome
FEB15MO5
I first discovered Kropf Mapguides when I traveled to New York several years ago. Initially, I was looking for travel guide with some sort of subway map so I could get around the city.

Kropf Mapguides turned out to be so much more than I expected. It had broken down the city into different areas along with suggested restaurants and attractions for that area. There are fold-out maps of each area with main streets and landmarks clearly labeled.

Most importantly, it had a detailed subway and bus map! And to seal the deal, my friend Maria, a native New Yorker, owned one too for reference.

Therefore, since Jon and I are planning a trip to Europe in the Spring, we undoubtedly needed to buy MapGuides for Paris, London and Rome. I can’t say enough about how much I love these MapGuides, by far the best travel guide ever.
